OUR BAY

The bay offers breathtaking scenery. The natural surroundings include rock formations, beaches, and sandbanks, creating an ideal scenic setting for outdoor activities and water sports.

The area is also an excellent spot for bird watching and landscape photography.

WHAT TO SEE

Una gran colonia de cormoranes imperiales se congrega en la costa de la Isla Justicia en Puerto San Julián. Las aves, de plumaje blanco y negro, se agrupan densamente en la orilla arenosa, con algunas de pie y otras descansando. El agua azul de la bahía se extiende hacia el horizonte, donde se vislumbran colinas ondulantes.

Justice Island, a nesting place for the imperial shag and the rock shag (also known as the king cormorant), also provides refuge for various birds such as gulls and coscoroba swans. It stands out for its geomorphological and paleontological richness, housing fossils and the remains of a petrified forest.

Furthermore, this small island holds historical significance due to the execution of a mutineer from Magellan's expedition and the visits of figures like Fitz Roy and Darwin.

The island, also known as Penguin Island, is home to a colony of over 130,000 Magellanic penguins (Spheniscus magellanicus).
