DESIGN
The objective was to preserve the original architecture of the building, restoring moldings, staircase, and facade. The ramp for people with reduced mobility was located in a side access, so as not to modify the entrance hall.
In addition, we recycled elements and added historical references, including details inspired by the history of San Julián.

SHELVES
The shelves are inspired by an old photograph of the building's interior, which shows how products were displayed in the old Argensud.
Recapturing that aesthetic, we placed these shelves with antique elements that have been lent to us by residents of San Julián.

PHOTOGRAPHS
The photographs displayed on this wall narrate the history of the Argensud building and its context in the town.
We begin in 1900 with the arrival of Watson, the first owner of the building, to the province, and we end in 1982 with the Falklands War.

LIGHTING
The choice to use 200-liter drums in the decoration is due to their traditional use for storing fuel in the estancias (ranches) of the region.

BEER TAP DECORATION
The decoration of the draft beer tap system is inspired by the old Swift meatpacking plant.
The tanks at the top evoke the digesters that were used to process animal by-products, converting them into fats and flours, essential materials in the industrial production of the time.

GABION WALLS
Gabion walls, commonly used in mining to contain the terrain, are part of our decoration, highlighting the current relevance of this activity.

WOOD PANELING
All the wood used as paneling on the walls comes from remnants found among the rubble of the building. By reusing this wood, we are giving value to the history of the building.

LAMP WHITH HISTORY.
Designed from the iconic baskets of the Sarasa Soda Factory.
Sarasa Soda began operating in 1957 and closed its doors in 2001.
It was founded by Francisca Bordoni, originally from Cabildo, Buenos Aires, and her son Juan José Sarasa, who was born in this town in 1930.
For 44 years, the soda factory and home deliveries to families, bars, restaurants, and shops provided jobs for many people.
A piece of San Julián’s history, now transformed into a design object that lights up with nostalgia.

GRILL COVER
The grill cover is inspired by the old boiler that used to heat the building.
